Down the road about a mile was a car with a flat tire. The presence of the Lord was so strong that as the man with the Cross neared the car the people changed the way they were talking. They were trying to leave before the Cross arrived, but God had a different plan for them. It was no accident that the tire went flat when it did. A flat tire was the only way to stop the car so they could hear the word of the Lord, the Gospel of Jesus.
While talking with them, beer-cans could be seen around the car. The talk with them was short and to the point. There was only one person who talked with the man with the Cross his name was Thomas. These people didn''t have to be told they were sinners, they already knew that. The conversation was held to the Love, Mercy, and Grace of God. Even those who would not talk they were still listening to Gospel. Therefore, some seeds of salvation were planted.
By this time, daylight was fading into darkness as the sun had set. A few miles down the road was an intersection. The lights of an intersection could be seen from where the car was. It seemed like it took about two hours to walk to the intersection. Along the way no one stopped. The night air was getting colder as the body was tiring fast from a full day of the Lord’s work.
While preparing a place to sleep at the intersection of U.S. 31 & SR 110, a car stopped. A man got out of the car and began to fellowship talking about the good things of the Lord. After he left sleep came quickly, the noise of the highway couldn''t keep the man of God awake.
Some time during the night clicking of stone against the pavement as if someone was walking on the pavement it awoke the man of God. All that he could do was listen, he couldn''t turn his head or move, and it was as he was paralyzed. However, there was no fear associated with it.
Someone walked up and laid a hand on the man of God''s right shoulder. A warm glow flowed down the right side. The hand didn''t have the feeling of the flesh of man. It was a divine visit from the Lord. The anointing flowed down the right side of the body. Then the Angel of the Lord was heard walking away. There was no sound of a vehicle before and during the divine visit. There was no sound of a car stopping or a door shutting. Every time the man of God slept out along the road the stopping of cars and the shutting of doors would awaken him. This was a divine visit. Sleep came quickly after the Angel of the Lord left.

About the Book
Thomas Moore has been carrying the Cross since October 1981. It was God Almighty who called Thomas to carry the Cross. The years walked are 1981, 1982, 1987 and walked every year from 1991 through 2003. Mr. Moore only walks when the Lord has given him a starting place and a place to stop. The experiences in this book are from 1981 and 1982 the first and second walk. These two walks set the ministry in motion of carrying the Cross.
Each year there were several people who impacted the life and minister of Mr. Moore. There were many times of much fellowship with believers of many different denominations and there were times carrying the Cross was an adventure walking into new and unseen country. Even some of the people he met along the road were an adventure in faith.
Throughout the book there is something new along the highway each day and something different to do in ministering to the Body of Christ and to those who do not know Jesus Christ as their Savior and as their Lord.
The book is a testimony to the grace and love of Jesus Christ the Heavenly Father and the Holy Spirit. It was the grace of God that each walk was completed as God provide the finances needed for each walk.
About the Author
Thomas B Moore has been an ordained minister since 1984. He has covered nearly 6000 miles in his walks with the Cross and have ministered to thousands of people through the ministry of carrying the Cross. There have been hundreds of people who have prayed a prayer of salvation with Mr. Moore. There have been many healed and set free from the things that had them bound.
Each year is a different walk as the Lord brings forth changes in Mr. Moore and the ministry of carrying the Cross. In 1996 the Lord pointed to the highway in front of Mr. Moore saying this is your Pastorship. Until that time Mr. Moore had worked as an Associate Pastor or Elder in several churches as the Lord had directed.
Mr. Moore’s sensitivity to the Holy Spirit has brought forth changes in peoples lives. Not only those he ministered to but also those who had heard about the man carrying the Cross or read about the man carrying the Cross in the newspaper or seen him on a TV news broadcast. In 1987 a teenage girl game out to the Highway to find the man carrying the Cross she wanted him to pray with her.
“Adventures In Jesus” is not just a book of stories but of Jesus ministering through a man carrying the Cross. It is a book of the faith of one man following the instructions of the Holy Spirit. And even the mistakes he made.
“Adventures In Jesus” begins with how Mr. Moore came to know Jesus as his Savior and the calling of Mr. Moore into a ministry of Carrying the Cross. “Adventures IN Jesus” includes the first two years of walking with the Cross.
