About the Book

I wrote this book to offer to anyone who is looking for another perspective and method of achieving not only terrific cooking but also to living a fuller life. I wanted to share with people I will probably never meet my outlook on life’s choices and some of my favorite recipes. This book is designed for people who are brand new to being on their own, have never cooked before for whatever reason and have to learn now, and are looking for some practical guidance in the mystical arena of food preparation. I have tried to make the art of cooking easy to understand and even easier to master. I have stayed away from using fancy technical terms and overly intricate recipes, and have focused on using language that the average person can easily understand. After all, how many people actually eat all that fancy food on a regular basis? Hamburger, pork chops, and chicken are really and truly what’s on the average person’s grocery list. Not truffles, and caviar or goose liver pate. I mean, really.

About the Author

Many different people raised me in many different places because my father was in the military and I was what was commonly known as a “military brat”. It created in me the type of confidence that comes from constantly being exposed to new schools, different cultural environments and having to make new friends on a yearly basis. The real benefit of all that school changing and constant moving is that as an adult, I can always relate to pretty much anyone I meet. It has given me a have a wide arena of common ground conversation starters to break the ice with new people and create a comfort level for them.

I have spent the most part my life in the South, in particular the state of Florida, more specifically Orlando; which in turn has lead to my acquiring a distinctive Southern accent. Which turns into an icebreaker at times itself. I like people and I like to cook. It makes me feel good, and over the years I have gotten pretty good at it. I have read tons of recipe books and for the most part they all seem to be strictly recipes with little to offer in the way of entertainment or how to value.

I have had many careers over the years with the longest being in the car business. I have been in my life, a wife, Mom, bank teller, Credit Union Branch Manager, Respiratory Therapist, Finance Manager & Director in the Auto and RV business, computer guru, website designer, mortgage and stock broker, oh and Cook! Did I mention Domestic Goddess? From all of these experiences I have learned many things and tried to incorporate the best things from each into my personality and lifestyle.

I have basically taught myself to cook and it took me over 30 years to become a good cook. This book is so other people can learn to cook without having to wait that length of time to become a good cook too.
