Darkness of Love
They say time will mend a broken heart
But time stands still when you are apart.
You try to sleep, but sleep won’t come
Eyes are still open at the break of dawn.
You try to please, doing all you can
Still you are treated as less than a man.
The darkness of love will hurt you my friend
Wishing that life would come to an end.
Tears will fall like a pouring rain
While inside your heart there’s nothing but pain.
Can’t hold your head up because of the load
Feeling alone on this hardship road.
You can’t think clear because of pain
Only the feeling of going insane.
So you start to smoke or a drink of choice
But still you hear your loved one’s voice.
Now for a while the pain comes to an end
As soon as you wake the pain’s back again.
You get on your knees and pray to heaven above
for here’s another day to face the “Darkness of Love”

About the Book
Yet to relive and bring back to life those emotions of my memories was not easy, nor easy to describe. Still I had to put these thoughts on paper, not to share them with anyone, until I received a call one day from Rev. Mary Boyd. She was just calling to see how I was feeling and what I was doing. I told her I was just going over some things I had written, so she asked to hear it. Not thinking about what I said, I read to her “My Repentance to God.” It touched her. Then she asked me if I would mind coming on her radio show to speak on different issues and to read “My Repentance to God.” So I did. A week later she called to thank me for being on her show. She said that we had such a big response, and she asked me if I would come back again. She told me I touched many people that day, and that I was not the only one who felt like no one understands.
I made up my mind then if I could touch another through words; to let ‘em know it’s all right’ and they’re not alone or the only one who feels this way; I would be very grateful to share my feelings as long as it helps another.
