About the Book

Life As Clear As Sunset, is a collection of poems which has been written over the course of the years.  The book gives the reader a view of life as Chrystal Dawn, which means clear sunset.

The collection chronicles experiences of love, life, death, and spirituality.  The poems of love tread the line between love and hate, as relationships often do. While the topic of life deals with various issues of unjustness, self-awareness, and urban living.

On the subjects of death and spirituality, the book touches on the author’s journeys with loosing both parents, as well as the struggle to follow God amidst life’s temptations.

It is the author’s hope that some find solace in the book, while others use the poems as lessons to not travel the same roads.  Whatever the case, may the book make Life As Clear As Sunset for you.

About the Author

Chrystal Dawn Walker, is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  She is a graduate of Philadelphia High School for Girls and a Lady of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated from the University of Pittsburgh.  She is the mother of two children and a Social Worker for Philadelphia County Children and Youth.

Chrystal has been writing poetry since Junior High School, and has had previous poems published by the Library of Congress. Her inspiration for poetry comes from living and observing life.  She strongly believes that one can emotionally heal through reading and writing, as it provides a forum for introspection and creative problem solving.

Most of all she enjoys spending time with her husband, Ray, and raising their children nine year old, Cherae Janelle and two year old, Christopher Jason.
