Tameka: “Douglass Banks, my God-fearing, God-led, and God-loving man. It seems like the words “I love you” are not enough to express how I feel about you. You have won my heart and I trust it to you. The love you have shown me I will never forget. I will do to the best of my ability what I need to do to be the woman of God and wife that you so rightfully deserve. “Don’t baby me! I’m sick and tired of your ex’s always popping up!” He moves closer to her face. With rage in his eyes and lightly grinding his teeth, he continues his onslaught. “You still messing around, Tameka? Ha? You messing around on me? Ha? “You messing around?”
She shies away. With each step she takes back, he takes a step forward until she is backed into a corner. He moves even closer to her; only her tears separate the distance between them.

About the Book
Tameka (Meka) Jackson has lived a horrible life. On her own since the age of thirteen, she’s seen it all, prostitution, drugs, alcohol. She knows not love nor knows how to love. Just surviving until the next day is all that’s on her mind—and that overpowering hunger for alcohol. The constant years of drinking has damaged her liver and what’s almost worse, her reputation for being “easy” for a drink follows her like a drug addict follows the drugs. At just the tender age of 24, she’s done almost all there is to do on the streets. She sees no hope and feels her life is useless. That is until she meets Douglass (Doug) Banks, a 21-year-old college student from Michigan attending Atlanta University majoring in Finance. Doug is the all-around handsome, intelligent, well-mannered, spiritual young man that any woman would be proud to be seen with. Tameka can’t help but fall for him, but his purpose is to lead her to Christ, not to be involved with her. He does want to be married one day, but never would he think of being married to someone who doesn’t even seem to care what happens to herself, let alone being united to an unbeliever. But, what will happen once Tameka does accept Christ as her Lord and Savior? When He cleans her up and shapes her into the beautiful inner and outer woman that she really is? Can they form a bond or will the shadow of Tameka’s past always overshadow them?
About the Author
I am a faithful and devoted servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. My primary desire in the material that I’ve been blessed to write is that it will find a way into the person(s) heart that needs Christ and for those that have a personal relationship with Him but may be going through the storm, that the material will be a both enlightening and encouraging. God is truly an awesome God and I want to share with others what He has graciously blessed me with.
I love to write anything that glorifies my precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, whether it be in the form of a novel, short story, article, poem, song, jingle, or whatever I can put down on pen and paper.
My publishing credits include poems and short stories in The Storyteller, Northern Stars Magazine, Famous Poets Society, and American National Pictures (Letter of Recognition for Screenplay).
I’ve taken courses with the Writer’s
Interests other than Jesus include spending time with my family, fellowship with my church family, writing (of course!), music, ministry work, evangelism, watching television (all the CSI’s and Law & Order’s), running my business, and quiet times to myself to name a few.
Heaven’s Child is my first novel. I pray that it’s a sweet success spiritually, naturally, and financially. To all of you reading, I pray that this book touches you in a positive way like it touched me while writing and completing it.
