Panic was knocking at her door but she wasn’t aware enough to answer it.
The sandy, mossy top of the precipice shifted under her stance. She took a restricted step back, seeking security, but it wasn’t enough. She had no way of knowing that the upper cliff face was giving away under her weight, but as she felt the movement, she began to sense what was about to happen.
For a split second, she looked down at her feet and began to recognize her ultimate fate. Time seemed to slip into slow gear. She fought to regain her balance, but it was too late. As her feet both started to go out from under her, she arched backward throwing the camera over her head to its safety. Her body had begun to slide away with the earthy material around her. Still facing her supposed destination - the island, all she saw was a blur of sky and water.
Realizing that she was starting to fall she attempted to reach back to catch the edge, but there was nothing there for her straining fingers to grab hold of. In her last try for abstract security, she arched herself backwards once more, only to succeed in bashing the back of her head against the underlying rocky face of the cliff, mercifully knocking herself unconscious. Her body dropped through the air, hitting savagely against the stone face several times before plummeting into the crashing waves.
She came to, seconds after hitting the cold water. It seemed as if she was waking from a long tormenting bad dream, only to begin another. Her first thought of course was - where am I? After the swift, chilling realization that she was under water, her second thought was - which way is up? As if from a lightening bolt, her body experienced the first powerful shot of adrenalin. Her arms and legs jolted into action, in unison with her brain. Eyes: try to stay open, try to focus. Where is the light? That’ll be the surface.
In the waning, evening light the surface was just barely discernible, the lighter gray above her. She had gone into the water feet first, but her unconscious state had robbed her of any opportunity for a last gulp of precious air before descending into the depths, and leaving her head already full of water. She tried frantically to blow the water out, causing yet another significant loss of vital air. It’s lighter there. Muscles rallied to fight towards the light, the surface. Blue-gray cold was everywhere, dark gray and light gray. Arms reaching, legs thrusting now with all of her might, she fought her way towards the light, but the surface still evaded her. One more valiant stoke, you can make it. It seemed like a very long way.
Maria gasped, just as her mouth cleared the surface. Air, all of her body had been crying for air. Now as she gasped for her second gulp of life giving, precious oxygen, a wave crashed down on her, pushing her under again. Her body received another shot of adrenalin as it reacted for survival.&nb

About the Book
Maria, a newly divorced woman is drawn to Sinabar, the family estate of a tormented, love forsaken scientist who has totally given up on love. Prestige, wealth and secrecy had helped him survive the scandalous and extreme situation that had ended his first marriage. Neither of them had any reason to expect that Fate would be working overtime.
A torrent of events pull them closer and closer, until it is undeniably clear that much stronger powers, negative as well as positive, are battling to impact their lives. The very foundations of their new reality, both physical and metaphysical, was about to be rocked and shaken severely.
Maria is traumatized by strange, disturbing flashbacks darkened with a sense of violence and overwhelming sadness; only later to discover that these spells were heralds from previous lives with her one true shining knight. Research leads them to astounding revelations which forge insurmountable bonds tempered by both bliss and torment.
Meanwhile present day treachery and violence ensues at Sinabar. Breathtaking scenes of joyous abandonment are torn and decimated by overpowering lust, greed and avarice. This force means to spare no one.
A rich tapestry of ancient history between these two strong individuals becomes visible only to be immediately overshadowed by devastation, caused by the negative force that has hounded their souls from century to century. This powerful, dark entity stalks them and plans ruthlessly to interfere with their fate and keep them apart. Down through time it has single mindedly never given up. If it could be defeated this time, could it be destroyed? There must always be a balance. True, Everlasting Love may be the answer.

About the Author
Deb, as she stringently prefers to be referred to, was inspired as a teenager to write television plots, but was too involved at that early age, with learning about life to devote serious time to her writing. While life is still very hectic, now in her early fifties, she is now indulging her desire to be a story teller.
Until recently, Deb has strenuously maintained a successful career as a horse breeder, trainer and riding coach. This career has often existed as a backdrop to the other twenty two jobs and careers that her life experience has afforded her. While finishing high school she also traveled to
