How does one describe the blackness of the universe that seems to go on forever, and is filled with bright street-lights along the way? As John “spirited” himself on his journey, it was something like going through a dark city, with only a few glimmering flames to illuminate his progress. There was isolation, and there was a vast loneliness, but there was a tremendous excitement that filled John’s heart as he moved, much faster than the speed of light from his home to the very spot he had visualized back on Fornax. And the moment he was there, suddenly a vast panorama of planets and moons and space debris entered his vision. And among them, could be seen one small planet that had a friendly look. He didn’t know why, but something in his intuition and inner emotions sent him in that direction.
And then he was there! He saw no sign of life around him, except a few small bugs on the ground, and a few strange fluttering creatures in the sky. Life was there, but it showed no sign of advanced life forms. The sky had a reddish cast, and the horizon was broken by jagged peaks, some of which appeared to be covered with molten fire.
And then he heard it…strange sounds, not coming to his ears, but coming instead to some “soul chords” deep within him. It was not clear to him, but it was definite enough for him to know that it came from a form of human life, still millions of miles away. It was the only beacon he had. But that’s all he needed, and in another moment, he was there!
But where and what was this strange land in which he found himself? It was unusual, with tremendously high peaks on all sides, and in between the peaks, could be seen great horizontal structures covering miles of valley areas. Moving on to other parts of the Globe, he discovered that he was now in the midst of teeming masses of life. Remaining in spirit form, so that he could not be seen, he approached this cluster of moving life.
He saw living forms that were six or seven feet tall, dressed in clothing that resembled skin with huge muscles. These great bi-peds looked to be terrifyingly strong. Their faces were covered with unusual head-gear. He supposed it could be something to extend their vision and perhaps their sense of hearing as well. He could not see their eyes, but only the mechanical extensions that covered them.
There were hundreds of these giants. They were involved in construction that appeared to be related to the horizontal buildings stretching out in all directions.
But suddenly he was aware of another interesting feature. Looking more closely, he also saw very tiny people! They were so small that they couldn’t have been more than eight or nine inches high. And if his guess was correct, they were in charge of directing the activities of the giants. They traveled in tiny vehicles, so small that John could have held one in his hand. And as he listened closely, he recognized the strident voices of the midget people giving directions to the huge giants working for them. It was apparently a coercive kind of thing, for it seemed that the little people had control over the workers who lagged behind in their work, and gave them some kind of jolt, or signal. All of this was done from a distance, a kind of remote control!
Already, in just these few moments, John now possessed a shocking story to take home with him. Here was a land of strange dimensions and a strange mixture of people, and an age-old version of slave labor.
