About the Author
Sandra K. Johnson is a technology trailblazer and the first Black woman to earn a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering. Dr. Johnson is currently the CEO, SKJ Visioneering, LLC and Sr. Vice-President and CTO, Kiafritech, LLC. Her past experiences as a global technology leader include over 25 years at IBM. Her most recent IBM role was as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), IBM Central, East and West Africa (CEWA) based in Nairobi, Kenya. She has authored over 80 technical publications including three books: “Linux Server Performance Tuning”, "Inspirational Nuggets", and "GREGORY: The Life of a Lupus Warrior”. Dr. Johnson has a zest for life, always looking for new opportunities to learn and experience new things. For example, in her IBM CEWA role, she traveled throughout Africa and the Middle East, including visiting over 18 African countries. During this time she had several adventures on African safaris and visits to Mt. Kilimanjaro (Africa's highest mountain) and Mt. Kenya (Africa's second highest mountain). Dr. Johnson has shared many of her adventurous, educational, and trailblazing experiences with others.
