In writing this book, I took many things into consideration. One main thing was my motive; what am I writing this book for? The answer I thought of was that there are so many overweight people in this world and all they need is a little push, a little motivation, and a whole lot of determination. This seems to be the thing that the average person trying to lose weight falls short on. So, as I introduce myself, the author, and a weight watcher myself to you, the reader, I would like you to know that I was in the same weight loss battle as some of you are, and through the fight, I became wiser and have realized that there is more to me than meets the eye. I discovered that I’m stronger than I look and I can do more than I ever thought I could. Just when I thought everything was over and I was destined to weigh 232 pounds, and wearing a size 22 forever, I finally began to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Shedding pounds and inches I never thought I could, after trying for years and years to lose the weight. This evidently was my time to drop the weight. I so desperately wanted to lose and as you either continue or begin, according to your purpose of reading this book, to lose your weight. I strongly encourage you to stay strong, know, believe and trust that you can defeat everything that will come your way. Hopefully this is your time to lose your weight as I said before, it took me years to even be productive as far as losing weight. I gave up, and I gave up, but that wasn’t the right thing to do now that I look back but we should all learn from our mistakes. So, as you read on, I hope you will get at least one thing that will help you to continue your race to win your prize, which is your weight loss. Even if you have not begun, maybe you can read something in this book to at least get your motor started and when you have finished, I desire nothing but the best for you and yours, and hopefully you will keep on and fulfill your purpose of losing weight. Sit back, relax and enjoy, as you read a book that can bring insight, encouragement and inspire you to get your weight where you want it to be and keep it there.
This is why I am sharing my blunders, as well as my success with you. There is no such thing as a victory without a fight. So, hopefully I am giving you enough ammunition to fight until you conquer your dragons and part of that ammunition is to inform you on how to do things right. When I didn’t do things safely or I didn''t do things wisely, I paid dearly every time. If it wasn''t not doing this, it was not doing that, it seemed to be always something I had to put extended time out on, or extra money out on so I started learning to do it right from the beginning. The beginning for me was after I made what seemed like a thousand mistakes, then I looked back and kept seeing nothing but a mess. Then I finally said, wait, it seems like I''ve been here and done this before. It was then that I began to watch what I did and what I didn''t do because these were the things that were going to cost me in the long run. I got wiser and wiser, not because I wanted to, but because I had to. I was losing money, time and effort. I had to catch on to this doing it right thing, or I was going to take 10 years to do this one thing, lose the weight. It behooved me to take a little more time with myself and with what I was doing. I needed to do things that would work out in my favor instead of work against me all the time. This was my big opportunity to turn this whole thing around and make me some lemonade. The kind of lemonade you can drink and say, that was a little bitter, but it was still good. That''s what some of you, as the readers, might want to say. I may have made a mess of this weight loss thing, but it''s time to make some lemonade. It''s time to stop making blunders and to start doing things right because you don''t want to spend any more time in your state than you have to. You want to be in a place where you can stop losing money by joining weight loss centers and never going or sacrificing to buy foods you need to complete your weight loss task, but still frying the chicken anyway. If you could just stop right in the middle of your tracks, and take a good hard look at yourself and watch your day to day activities you might change your mind about some things. Monitor whether you are doing things right, smart, or healthy because only you can answer that question. You are the one who knows if you have taken your medications properly while exercising or if you have been raiding the refrigerator at 3:00 in the morning, which you and I both know doesn''t help your cause so think about yourself and figure out what is your best way to make sure that you do things right. Consider everything; your children, your career, your finances, your character, whether you like to get up early or go to bed late, so that you manage your schedule properly. A lot more goes into your losing the weight than getting on a treadmill or walking, or exercising every day. Hopefully reading this book, you have developed a mind to go on and win your prize but as you very well see, there is a price to pay, and you have to go into losing the weight with that frame of mind and be prepared for the booby traps, the disappointments, the messes, and whatever else that comes your way to oppose your weight loss. After you pay the price and make all your sacrifices as far as rest, time, entertainment, etc., whatever you have to curb to get to your weight loss goals, will definitely be worth it in the end. I dare not say that I am an expert on any of the things I spoke about in this book but I do say that I write from my experiences, failures, mistakes, downfalls and victories but most of all I have hopefully succeeded in persuading you to take care of yourself and to love yourself, and to not neglect the needs of your body. You can lose every ounce of weight you want to if you really try hard enough and put your mind to it. You can conquer the weight, don''t continue to allow the weight to conquer you. There is only, always and forever going to be one of you, nobody else will ever know anybody like you. You are unique in your own very special way and you deserve to be happy and to enjoy life to the fullest. The way you want to enjoy it.
