Isn’t it funny, how you can acquire wisdom from sources that you least expect! I’m sitting in a theater, trying to enjoy a horror movie when the serial killer in the film makes this profound statement, “Fear is the price of our instrument”. Now, I don’t know how you would interpret this statement, but I interpret it as follows:
Our instrument/s is our special talent. Our purpose, if you will. Purpose begins with a vision. Many times we are given a vision at a very early age in our lives, but don’t realize that it is what we are supposed to lean towards as our goal. What vision/s have you had since as long as you can remember? Why are you so afraid to receive those visions as being a possible truth? Does the vision you have seem too far fetched? Is this a vision that others would take as a joke if verbalized? Has insecurity caused you to feel that your vision is impossible to attain? Well, I’ve got news for you. You are wasting valuable time pondering the pros and cons of a destiny God has already confirmed through a vision. Let’s say that at the ripe old age of two, you knew that you were called to be a writer, then why are you crying everyday and asking God, “What am I supposed to do with my life?” He’s already shown you what to do. Be a writer. How?, you say. Begin writing. Proverbs 16:9 states, “A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps” Your steps will be directed, which will cause everything else to fall into it’s place. God said it, I suggest you believe it. Numbers 23:19 states, “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither is he the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” In the book of Daniel, king Nebuchadnezzar had dreams and visions that foretold what was to come. Daniel 2:28 states, “But there is a God in heaven that revealed secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these; As for thee, O king, thy thoughts came into thy mind upon thy bed, what should come to pass hereafter: and he that revealed secrets maketh known to thee what shall come to pass”. Do not fret over how the vision will manifest and come to pass. “What shall I do, where shall I go?” you think. First, you need to pray for direction.
When you pray, make sure you are praying with integrity. Don’t be shallow in your prayer life. 1 Kings 3:11-14 states, “And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for understanding to discern judgement; Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee. And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days. And if thou wilt walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as thy father David did walk, then I will lengthen thy days”. This simply means that because you are not praying out of a selfish heart, God will honor that integrity by giving you wealth without you even having to ask. He will also clear out the competition so that you will get the spotlight for yourself. You will be given a “…wise and understanding heart” that will cause you to be special amongst the rest. Let your obedience be as David’s and you a
