Your Mama Wears Combat Boots

If you are one of these spiritual spies, going out ahead of even the Special Forces, setting up networks for infiltration and for escape by God’s people, you will likely work alone or in pairs. You will hear remarks from the SYSTEM that there are “no lone rangers for God.” You will hear that if you were going in the right direction you would have “a following.” Eventually, you will learn to like being alone because the Holy Spirit will move with you, and you will establish a “secret history” with Him. When you work with a partner, you will find it essential to establish a common vision, and develop communication -- sometimes verbal and sometimes signal. You will retain a high standard of truth, backed only by the living Word, and lose interest in the “to and fro” of seminars, TV evangelists, bestseller books, and elite societies of ministries. You will be called to task by different segments of the SYSTEM, and will occasionally wonder about your own sanity and calling, but will find that when the Spirit leads, you have no choice, and continue on in the same direction, as you ponder these things in your heart. You will experience a greater anointing as the pressure increases, allowing you to recognize only some of your accomplishments, and then only after they are complete. Without effort, your focus will become more narrow, more clear and uncluttered. You will probably relate only to God’s remnant group -- those who refuse to conform to either the world SYSTEM or the religious SYSTEM, and will form a network with this remnant for accountability, as well as intercession, support and escape routes. To be successful in this calling, you must remain in obscurity, and others may get credit for your work, if its value is recognized at all. The final result will be a revolution, and you can quietly smile as it breaks out all around you. But your work will not be done. There is another trouble spot brewing, which nobody in the mainstream has noticed, since they are so occupied with the current revolution. An urgency in your spirit tells you that you must get off your spiritual duff and go out ahead of the Special Forces…

This is the mission of the spiritual SOG. A Special Operations Group, small, tight, trained to extremes, and totally lacking credibility and visibility from the SYSTEM. As with the U.S. Military creation of these groups, they cannot expect to be welcomed, accepted or praised, even when they show spectacular skill and courage in saving the lives and mission of the rank and file. Only the Commander in Chief calls them into being, trains them, and places them in operation; and only He can say, “Well done.”
