The reader will be able to understand what is involved in preparing a public school budget and will be able to build a school budget. Major emphasis of this book will be on the six basic funds, but the book also discusses the role of the School Board, other important funds, risk management, insurance, property tax appeals and GASB 34. This book is intended for college students in the masters and doctoral program and can be used by school board members for a better understanding of the budget.


About the Author

Dr. Dykiel has been a Business Manager for over ten years with Lake Central School Corporation and Director of Finance for the School City of Hammond for five years. Dr. Dykiel has authored numerous articles that have been published in the Indiana Association of School Business Officials-InterCom, Association of School Business Officials International-School Business Affairs, Association of School Business Officials International-ASBO Accents, CM Cleaning Management, and School and College. Dr. Dykiel has also been a district director for the Indiana Association of School Business Officials District One, and is a Registered School Business Official with the Indiana Association of School Business Officials.

 

Dr. Dykiel has two Associate Degrees, one in Accounting and the other in Supervision from Indiana University, a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from Calumet College, a Master Degree in Education from Purdue University and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Organizational Change from Roosevelt University.
