Where Are Our Fathers?

That is what I call us.  By burdened, I mean the loneliness, the many tears, and feeling unappreciated.  Our children are the blessings, the individuals that remind us that we are beautiful.  “Everyday I awake to the sound of my son’s voice.  “Mommie, Mommie”.  Then my sadness arises momentarily.  The fact that only mommie is the name called out everyday, and never “daddy”, is hurtful.  Until reading the stories of these many women, I never thought or even considered that married women are single parents in certain aspects.  Even though they have taken that walk down the aisle, when it comes to the raising of the children, they are by themselves.  The biggest difference between a single mom, and a married mom, is the financial security.  Even then, the married mothers’ give up their careers and sacrifice their opportunities to be a fulltime parent.  Perhaps that was the plan made between husband and wife pre-children.

  Then there are the married moms that are fulltime parent, and hold down a fulltime job.  Generally, this is good financially, but realistically, if a child falls ill, or anything in that department arises, 85% of women will either lose their jobs, or voluntarily quit for the sake of their child (ren).
