About the Book

Have you ever had the thought, “if you could be anyone but yourself, all your problems would just go away?”

If you could be anyone but yourself, you would be smarter, stronger, and maybe everyone would like you.

Come visit with us in a land not so far away, in a time not so long ago, to a town called Not-So-Nice and meet Billy.

Billy is a young inventor who discovers a way to do just that. He becomes someone else.

Will this solve Billy’s problems? Will this make him happy? Will everyone like him? Will he like himself?

About the Author

James T. Morris grew up in the small city of East Palo Alto California, located fifty miles south of San Francisco. Where, as children, he and his brother Anthony would compete for writing and telling the best stories. Later in his life he honed those early skills by writing and telling stories to his four children; stories they loved to read and hear. Today James is a graphic design circuit engineer. He is also a former competitive bodybuilder and actor. While in college, one of his English professors said to him, “Brother Morris, you tell a fine story, keep writing,” a statement he didn’t take to heart at the time. As an actor, he has worked with such celebrities as Bill Cosby, Tom Selleck, Lawrence Fishburne, Jeff Goldblum, Dennis Farina, Bill Duke, Taylor Hackford, and Peter Yates. It’s as an actor that James once again would get serious about his writing. While on the set of An Innocent Man, word of one of the stories he had written, “Melody and the Honey Bee” had gotten to one of the production staff of Touchstone Pictures. This was of great import for his work was being considered for animation. However, this was not to be at the time. The love of writing had been rekindled. His four adult children serve as his sounding board, along with various writing groups.

The Emerald Green Machine is James’s first published work. The story is enhanced and brought to life by the skillful artwork of Carole Van Straatum.
