About the Author

Joyce Leininger Wineinger received her B.A. at Michigan State University and M.A. at Eastern Michigan University. Her state certifications include elementary, secondary education, and remedial reading in Michigan and Texas as well as Texas English Second Language Protected Status.

Her teaching career spans from 3rd grade through 12th grade, GED program, and Educational Director at Goodwill Industries. Her English Second Language career began with the Texas Federal Survival English & Orientation For Refugees Program, University of Texas at Arlington, and Tarrant County College [Northeast] where she initiated the Intercultural Club and co-promoted the 1st Annual International Festival. Mrs. Wineinger also received the Outstanding Texas Teachers of Speakers of Other Languages (TEXTESOL) for Region V in 1986.
