PREFACE
There are too many senseless killings happening around the world, especially in America. Drugs, money and violence seem to be a part of this epidemic.
I was shot three times in June of 1982. Being shot resulted in bitter and psychological feelings, and it took time and the grace and mercy of God to forgive myself for the life I had prior to salvation. Some people will tell you that they don’t care who they kill and don’t have a conscience. Everyone has a conscience, even cold-hearted killers. I know from experience that it leaves a deep scar on your conscience when you take another person’s life, regardless of the reason.
I’ve been shot, used drugs and spent time in prison for murder. I have a story to share. I wrote this book for men who want to change their lives before they make the mistakes I did. I also wrote this book for men in prison who want to make things right with God, put their mistakes behind them and go on with their lives. There is a better way to live, and that better way is through a personal relationship with God and His Son, Jesus Christ.
Beloved, let us love one another; for love is of God, and everyone that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation (substitute) for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and His love is perfected in us.
Hereby know we that we dwell in Him, and He in us, because He hath given us His Spirit. And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. And we have known and believeth the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgement; because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear; because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us. If any man says I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar; for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from Him, that he who loveth God love his brother also (I John 4:7-21).
I want to share the reasons why I know we don’t need to use guns and knives to settle disputes. We must turn to God for help.
