About the Book

“You have to eat if you want to live.”

Claire McKinney has heard this admonition from more than one well-meaning person in her life.

Suffering from the aftereffects of chronic depression, childhood bouts of bulimia and anorexia, and several devastating losses, Claire seems to prefer the dark world of insanity and even death to a life filled with emotional pain.

Only after encountering several quirky strangers, persons to whom society has given little value, is she able to embrace and find meaning in her life.

For, as Claire discovers, sometimes the smallest act of kindness can open a tiny crack of light, illuminating the way out of despair to recovery.
