Simple Steps to Grow and Harvest Your Money

That means that you have a three out of four chance if you were to pick stocks via a dartboard, but you don’t even need to add that risk. Simply be part of the major move via an index fund, sector fund, country fund or ETF and omit throwing darts. Simply buy the whole move with one index fund or ETF.
Deciding where to invest isn’t difficult. Bet on the trend.
So now that I’ve let the secret out of the bag, all you are left with are three steps:
- Determine what is trending up.
- How to buy the stock/investment.
- Selling the investment.
In taking these steps, I am going to refer to stocks, but the same rules apply to funds, ETFs or anything similar.
Step 1: What is trending up?
The first issue we need to find out is what is trending up and how can we be sure. You will get to use one of the best computers in the world to make this decision for you: your brain. Remember the old saying, “a picture is worth a thousand words?” In investing, it is a picture that can literally be worth thousands of dollars. By learning how to review a stock chart — a picture — you can qualify or disqualify a stock in just moments.
We are going to look at stock charts, which (surprisingly) are charts that show a timeframe and share price for a stock. Let me tell you why you want to look at charts.
A chart never lies, as in Never. Regardless of what action a company, its CEO, its CFO, its Board of Directors, large investment banks or the public is taking, if the action is important then, it’s going to show up in the price chart of the stock. The price is the purest piece of information you can have on a stock. A price chart always tells the truth.
The reason price is so important is because it doesn’t lie. What I mean by this is that the price is the price. And since you make money when the price of the stock goes up, you need to know what the price is doing.
It doesn’t make sense to invest in a stock when the CEO says to if the price is falling off a cliff, does it? No! And it doesn’t make sense to invest in a stock just because Wall Street says to buy it. Remember that Wall Street is not in the business of making you money. It doesn’t make sense to buy a stock if its P/E (price to earnings) ratio is low or if its price-to-book ratio is good IF the price is trending down. Why not just wait until the price starts trending up? You don’t know how long it can or will go down. It could go to zero. (It does not matter whether you know what P/E or “price-to-book” means).
