BENJAMIN

He was born with the most unusual talent. He was not expected to survive due to complications. The doctors gave him a fifteen percent chance, but she knew her youngest son was a fighter. That was seven years ago. His name is Benjamin.

His older brother Billy, who is now nine, was not happy about a second child. He would not let Benji play with him and his friends. Billy would tease his brother until their mother stopped him. “I think you’re jealous of Benji,” she said.

“Why would I be jealous of that?” Billy replied sarcastically. Billy would always get sent to his room.

Benji never seemed to mind his brother constantly being rude or that Billy didn’t allow him to participate in things he was doing. Benji had his art, and that was all that mattered to him.

Billy was going to be a professional football player. “Who cares about art? What a waste of time!” he would say. Deep down though, Billy knew he felt jealous which made him even angrier. He also knew he should be proud of his brother; no one else had anyone as talented as Benji in their family. Still, Billy couldn’t help wishing he had some extraordinary talent. Then people would pay more attention to him than to Benji.
