Sabado Lubere

      Doctor Bently had a smile on his face as he walked along the sandy beach.  “I’m almost sixty years old,” he said.  “I’m impressed that those creatures would put me in comparison with you, young bucks.”  He started jumping around and making funny faces at every body, even the ladies.

      “I’m not proud to admit it,” said Forest, “but when I was a sea captain, women like our three ladies—I just called them bed warmers.  Why, I would just take one of them to bed with me and just forget about it.  But now, my journey through life is with Jesus, my Lord and savior.”

      Rex quickly interrupted him.  “Oh no, preacher.  You ain’t gonna give us a sermon.  After all, look at this sand under my feet.”  He kicked it with his feet, then pointed at the ocean, and continued.  “Look at that ocean out there.  Now does this place look like a church?”

      A seagull flew overhead and let out a big and loud scream, that seemed to be appropriate at the time.  Rafa didn’t want anyone, or even a bird preventing the right of anyone to believe in God, so he spoke up loud.  It sounded as though he was angry.  “Leave him alone,” said Rafa in his Hindu accent.  “He has the right to believe in his God if he wants.”

      “Okay, Rafa,” said Rex, “but the real issue is not Forest and the Almighty.  It’s these creatures trying to force us upon these three young ladies that we are trying to help.”

      All eight men were beginning to get a little peeved, and it was beginning to leave a bad taste in the mouths of the aliens, but, they could not give up and die.  They were desperate.    For fear of anyone else getting killed or hurt, the aliens removed their firearms.  Rex and Bob never even missed them; they could even feel the weight of the gun as though it was still there.  In fact, they could even see their guns.

      “Hey fellars,” said Jacob, “look up yonder at them birds around them cliffs up there, just screaming and hollering.  Boy!  I’m glad I’m not up there.”

      “Why?” asked Doctor Bently.

      “Because, dad burn it!  When I get up high like that, it scares me plum out of my head.”

     Chung laughed and said, “Your fear is all in your head.  There’s nothing there.  You should know by now that it’s all a trick.  The only danger we face is what’s in our mind.”
