About the Book

The purpose of this collection of love Poems is to express how one of the strongest emotions known to human beings can cause a person to experience feelings of joy, happiness, sadness, fear, anticipation, rejection, reluctance, lust and extreme pain.


About the Author

Gladys Taylor was born in Madison, Georgia. She was blinded at age fifteen. Gladys is an avid reader. She graduated from Fort Valley State College. She has been an advocate for the blind for years. In 1995, she received an award for outstanding service to the blind from the National Federation of the Blind of Georgia, Decatur Area Chapter. Presently, she represents the elderly on the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority’s Elderly and Disabled Advisory Access Committee.

 

Gladys has had poems published in a Lasting Mirage, A Painted Garden, and America at the Millennium (The best poems and poets of the twentieth century). Her poem, Black Man received the editor’s choice award and was published in The best poems and poets of 2001. In 2003, she was asked to contribute a poem by Noble House Publisher’s in London, England. Her poem, We were meant to be, was published in Theaterof the mind on the first page. Her latest poem, God’s Mountain, was also published on the first page in The best poems and poets of 2003. This poem and several others are on the Internet at WWW. Poetry.com. Two of her poems, A Game of Love and Hurry Home Alive, have been set to music by Hilltop Records. Shadows of Love is her first book to be published.
