About the Book

I learned the art of Chinese brush painting from master Chin Sei Yu while in college and have been creating works in this medium since that time.

For the past number of years, my work life has been dedicated to teaching very young children.  I have found that art is a universal language; a great teaching tool that can be shared by all ages and cultures.

This group of paintings is an effort to share my joy of art with the children I teach.  Now, I would like to share it with all of you.

About the Author

Tasha Bonfanti Balsom studied Chinese Brush Painting with painting master, Chin Sei Yu when living in Vermont in the 1970’s.  Tasha’s Chinese name, Chiun Yu, means Spring Jade.  Studying individual plants and animals are at the heart of her work.

Tasha currently lives in Lexington, MA with her husband and two beautiful children who are fledgling artists themselves.

Tasha has had hundreds of exhibits in New England.  She is a member of the Stebbins Gallery in Cambridge, Massachusetts.  Her work is also on display at the Conley Studio in Madrid, New Mexico.
