Allison is my six-year-old student who always gets a headache when it’s time to play the not-so-easy songs in her piano book. Though she agrees to play that dreadful song, I can hear the pain vibrating in each and every note that she plays.
One time, as we were going through the same “ordeal”, I saw a cat pass by the backyard wall. I told her out of the blue, “Why don’t you give your headache to the cat? Maybe it will go away.” Without question, she followed me. She put her hands on her head and “threw away” her headache to the cat.

About the Book
Everyday, life teaches us something new. If we just open our eyes, our ears and our hearts, we will keep on learning and keep on growing.
In my experience as a piano teacher, my students have taught me a lot of things. I am awed and deeply inspired by these little ones whose faces reflect the radiance of God.
I share with you what I have learned from them, hoping that their stories will touch your hearts just as they have touched mine.
About the Author
Over the past ten years, Mabel Dizon De Leon has taught music education to students of an elementary school in Artesia, California. She has also served in church as cantor, pianist and choir director. Aside from writing, she composes liturgical songs and music for school plays. She resides in California with her husband and two daughters.
