When the radio is low
and I can barely hear,
it is your voice...
Its rhythm, its timbre.
Perhaps,
because that is what I remember most;
what was so much of our time together.
Listening to you,
on the radio.
Those lonely nights
after the kids were put to bed.
Me, laying on the floor
enjoying the uncluttered view
of the ceiling;
Listening to you tell the world
how the ball was bouncing
on a basketball court in
or a football field
in
That same voice
that whispered love words,
then uttered,
Good-bye!

I’ve been going to bed with my ear rings on lately.
This, of course reminds me of you
and the countless times
I would take them off in the dark
and give them to you
to place on the bedside table.
Yet,
it’s been years
since that was a nightly ritual.

About the Book
This book is a compilation of original photographs and verse by the author. It is a work that spans 23 years, so reflects on a broad span of life transitions. The author is one of the millions of the early “baby boomers” who witnessed transitions from a time moored in strict religious and home-spun values to very open social moors; more working moms, more displaced fathers, more medicated kids; and more discretionary income. Transitions of which the impact has been tremendous.

About the Author
Lee O’ Kelley was born second in a large family, equal in boys and girls. She grew up in a small religious community. Her mother loved to draw and her father loved to build and make verse with her when she was young. They both inspired her to be creative and to love beauty.
This work is a collection of sights and words that reflect the transitions of her adult experience.
She is the mother of two sons and two daughters and grandmother to a grandson and granddaughter. She works and resides in
