About the Book

Suddenly you are struggling to keep your head above water. Your leg feels numb. Your head is throbbing as water keeps splashing over your head. Grappling for a small boat a hand reaches out. Amid the terror of that moment your mind flashes back to London.

From this true event arises a wartime story of real love. Working alongside in the office of the Orient Lines Trina and Alan instantly become inseparable friends. Every available moment is spent together and their friendship soon accelerates into a vigorous romance. Driven by their intense sexual desire an unwritten bond and compelling commitment develops. That allegiance is tested often by the wavering demands of a wartime schedule and the uncertainty of the times.

Can the power of true love overcome the expectations of such a treaty? Or are the pressures of the surrounding battles enough to distract and crush the most solid promise? You will be fascinated by the many trials and a most unexpected ending.

About the Author

A promising operatic career was interrupted by his call to duty as a ship’s officer during World War II.  His ship ferried literally thousands of troops from the USA to the European theatre.

Most of his life has been spent along the east coast of Australia and the Great Barrier Reef ranging, from Melbourne to Cairns to Townsville. Since 1984 he has resided in Paluma where he is consulted on the history of the region.
