Lost in the Light

The night…… full of mysteries and amazement. Full of predators never seen and prey that never last. This was the nature of the night. The darkness covered the land as a soft blanket would a large bed. The dark clouds rolled over the foot hills and crowded the sky like an evil entity. It was truly night, and not just any night, but a deadly night. It seemed as thou the being had come like always, willing and ready to claim it’s place in time like the day, but this night was different. This time the night had come with a purpose, a goal of some sort that was only known by the very entity itself. The clouds bustled as the sky began to open to let out its roars of thunder and strikes of lighting. This was truly sign that this night was annoyed. The first flash came, and the sound of thunder rolling in the distance could be heard. As the sounds trickled off the mountains and hills near by, eleven figures stood calmly in the field that welcomed the coming storm. Seemingly lost in time, the figures made no motion, as if each were waiting for some great signal to act, some sign from one to the other to centralize their actions. The scene was set, each standing in a carefully positioned area, like a circle distancing them selves perfectly from the next. The circle was immense and in the middle stood only one man, a single soul who stood alone in mind, body, and spirit. The lighting flashed continues, as the thunder roared and screamed of shifts of the sky, however, the picture of the individuals did not deviate. In the darkness nothing could be seen, only the sounds of small growling, and occasional foot placing for stability could be heard. This was the sign of pure patients of the individuals, standing like statues on a great monument of some sort, they were clearly here for one purpose only… to be labeled predator and prey. The moon light dimmed, as the sky opened up to the clouds and they began to take it away. The stability of the characters in the field drew almost unapparent as their sighting became almost untraceable. The sound of the thunder and lighting combination showed its face once more, but this time was of a different consequence. As the scene of the souls standing motionless in the field became visible yet again, it was clear that the labeling of the two parties had taken place and all had ended. As the lighting strike showed the scene, the ten individuals that at one point stood motionlessly in the circle around the individual in the middle, now began to light the ground with their beaten bodies. The warriors all fell harmlessly to the ground, empty of all life, and still yet they held the circle that they all had formed before the confrontation.
