Introduction

This introduction is a synopsis of a children’s story entitled Tedi The Bear & His Pals Adventure At The Zoo!  This is a delightful story that involves five animal characters. A bear named Tedi who is the one everyone looked up to and looked to for solutions and instructions when confronted with different types of situations. The other characters are DeeDee, the dog, Tomme, the cat, Bobbi, the beaver and a mischievous Mimi, the bird that causes a lot of frantic excitement for the group. 

In brief, the story centers on the five characters going to the new city zoo. The problem, their enthusiasm became damped because the admission into the zoo was $1.00. No one had money.  So rather than leave and go home to get money to enter the zoo the right way, these darling little ones decided they would dig a passage under the zoo fence and enter the zoo that way. After getting into the zoo and spending a wonderful day, the climax of the story, is when they could not leave the zoo because they discovered their mischievous friend Mimi, the bird had been missing most of the day just to find she had gotten herself locked in a cage with other birds at the International House of Birds and this is where the real adventure and excitement heightens.

This fable is the perfect story for school and a bedtime story, for parents wanting to spend quality time with their younger age children as well.

About the Author

Berine Gail Thompson, mother of six, three girls and three boys; five of which are young adults and one son who is seventeen at this time.  Attended Coppin State College, majored in Elementary Education and attended Baltimore Studio of Hair Design, to later open and manage her own beauty salon. She had the opportunity to be a full figure model for a number of years and often was invited to do public poetry reading at schools, colleges, lounges, funerals, weddings, and many other public functions as well as poetry readings at a major radio station. Berine have enjoyed writing poetry since the age of ten.  The love of writing poetry has sustained and motivated her to write on various topics and issues as well as personalize poetry for others. Now she is incorporating a collection of children’s literature too.  This collection consists of stories, learning and self-awareness materials. These are great learning tools to make learning fun and enjoyable not only for the child/children but for mom and dad or anyone who takes on the challenge of teaching a child in their formative years. Most learning and awareness materials are all in short story and poetry form. Creative writing is not a mere hobby to Berine; it’s actually a major function of her very being. It’s a contribution and also another way of helping to encourage all people, which include children as well.
