About the Book

In the early 1960’s on Long Island, a winning cast of teachers and students in Suppogue High School cope with a mysterious murder, forbidden romances, and political upheavals.  The plucky heroine, Lucy Mackenzie, snares the dangerous murderer and finds her own life-affirming answers. About the Author

Nanette Asher holds a MA in English language and literature from NYU. She has taught writing, literature, and drama in schools on Long Island and in the City University of New York, and has taken her students from Hunter College High School to perform Shakespearean plays in London at the Globe Theatre. In 2003, Nan was awarded the Blackboard Prize for outstanding teaching in Manhattan schools and recommended three times by parents and students to Who’s Who in American Education.  Her poems are published in several periodicals and recognized by Pen and Brush, and she is currently completing an interfaith postmodern interpretation of The Pentateuch. After discovering the beauty of Newfoundland on Canadian vacation, she returns frequently to visit favorite haunts.
