When a storm comes along and fills up my world,

The skies are blind,

My Prayer
When shade fills the air
With its gusty wind,
That’s when I die.
When the earth’s dirt
Moves up and over my body,
That’s when I die.
When a single rose is used
To describe how I lived my life,
That’s when I die.
When a single autumn leaf falls
On top of me and rolls around,
That’s when I die.
When I die and fall to my grave,
I pray to the heavens that my soul they’ll save.
They’ll send me back down & tend to my girl.
They’ll send me back down to the one that rocks my world!
I’ll protect her and tend to her needs
& Finally she’ll realize what she means to me!

My New Life
I’ve been living a lie
The last couple of years.
My teenage lessons…
They’ve brought me nothing but tears!
I’ve had nothing but sorrow
The last twenty-four months.
I’ve acted pretty stupid.
I feel like an unused slut!
I’ve acted pretty shallow.
& I’m a fairly empty-hearted man!
I’ve seeked revenge as much as I can.
I took this job
For all the wrong reasons.
& If lust were wrong…
I’ve committed thousands of acts of treason!
I used drugs & I’ve lied
To all the wrong people.
I’ve stolen & had sex
Next to the top of church steeples.
I’ve done a lot of shit in this town.
That’s why it’s not hard
To put myself down!
I use to be
Such an innocent guy.
Until one day,
I woke up.
I cried & I cried.
I gave it ALL up
For the love of my life.
I guess that’s mistake number one…
I don’t need a wife!
Well…
After we broke up,
I was so devastated!
I actually slit my wrist!
The wound bled as it was penetrated.
That was a year
After her & I broke up.
Now two years have past
& I’m still kind of in-love!
But now I’ve got
My new life on track.
No more slitting my wrists
Or snorting the crack!
I’ve made a pact with myself…
Like no more weed!

About the Author
The author of ‘Do you know what it’s like?’ (Thomas E. N. Frick) wrote for his high school newspaper. He was a writer of many and almost all types of stories. He wrote everything from editorials to stories that demanded just the straight up facts. Thomas is no stranger when it comes to writing poems based on factual feelings mixed with a little bit of fiction because he did that for his news paper and throughout his whole life growing up as well. He also has other hidden talents such as singing. He lettered in honor choir not including he flew by theater classes with no problem. This talented young writer has now written an esquizid book based on his personal feelings.
