About the Book

Sharon Stanton has written a gut-wrenchingly honest and candid book about her life.  She does not hold back.  She tells of the early years with alcoholic parents and the anxiety she lived with every day of her life.  Becoming a Christian at age 16 started her on the walk with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, but drinking became more important and took the place of faith in her life.  Marriage to a strong, domineering man came, and children followed.  She led a double life in those years.  She became sober in Alcoholics Anonymous, but divorce soon followed and again her life changed. In these years, she had many love affairs, with much younger men and with men her own age. There were severe ramifications from those choices.low self esteem, poor self image, coupled with shame, plagued her constantly. In 1987, after nearly having a nervous breakdown, she vowed to change. She got down on her knees and cried out to God for strength to do so.It would be another three years before real change and healing began. Going to a Life In the Spirit Seminar at her church, she was bathed in the Holy Spirit and healing began. In 1990, she met the man who helped turn her life around, and gave her stable companionship, friendship, and love. They both share the same faith in the Lord.At present, they have not married, but knows that each has a soul mate in the other. Now, life is good in Christ and many avenues of service for her Lord and Savior have opened up to her. God forgives even the worst of sinners, and she will be “eternally” grateful for that.

About the Author

Although Sharon has written many stories, poetry, and letters, over the years, this is her first finished book.  Writing and editing this book over the past 32 years was a labor of the heart, of healing, and of renewal.  Sharon is a twin.   Her twin sister Shirley and she supported each other while growing up in Kansas City, Missouri, in an alcoholic home.  Sharon has always written to not only figure out the “why” of her life and her choices, but to help cleanse the wounded emotions and shame, which dogged her all of her life.  Though she became a Christian at 16, she fell away from the Lord for many years, living a life not pleasing to God.  At 55, she met a man who was to help her overcome her immoral and chaotic way of life, and begin the healing that needed to take place in her.  In this man, she found somebody who was a Christian and loved the Lord as she did, and liked and loved her for herself, and is a true soul mate.  Although they have not married, they have been together for 14 and ½ years.  Through prayer, regular Bible study, and counseling she was able to know and accept that a loving God forgives her sins, if she but ask.  And, He has a wonderful plan for her life.  Now, freed from the shackles of shame and anxiety, Sharon is becoming the person God intended for her to be all along.
