About the Book

This is a tale of wonder. Why would a woman leave the safe haven of home and family to go into a world of uncertainty? Betty Kurtz Hamilton did just that. She learned that her journey led others to find courage to follow. It is a story about adventure and overcoming obstacles. It wasn’t the road less traveled - it was making a new road. Its simple, direct form tells the story of the road, its heights and depths — at times humorous and most of all about the joy of accomplishment. It is about family relationships and the bond between parents and children.

About the Author

An astonishing storyteller of courage, persistence and destiny, Betty Kurtz Hamilton is a descendant of Abraham Kurtz pioneer - an Amish minister, who came to America in 1740 from Germany to find religious freedom. Betty made the road and became an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church in 1977, after being a student at Princeton Seminary in 1954 when women’s ordination was unheard of. Her story is one filled with amazing experiences, entertaining as well as informative.

She learned that when one road ends, another must be made. Her travels took her to eight states, following her dream and calling. It took twenty years to make this road. Betty lives in Sonoma, California.
