The sounds of nature surround me. I do not hear car horns, loud people talking, trains, buses, police sirens, or any of those city noises. Just rain drops filling the air, one after another. The birds are chirping, flying past my sight as they dart thru the light jungle breeze. It's a beautiful day despite the lack of sunlight shining down on this magical island. Its beauty can be appreciated completely. The water falling from the sky is one of the most pure sounds to my human ears. I feel perfectly content inside this hammock, swinging oh so slowly to the rhythm of the silky smooth breeze.
I have begun to unwind my clock these last few days. I refuse to even look at my one clock that I carry around on my small backpack. Whenever someone declares the time in my vicinity, I clench myself for a moment as I attempt to block it out. There is no reason for myself to know the actual time. I wake up and roll out of bed when I feel that I've slept enough. Eating comes and goes with my hunger. Sleeping creeps up on me with delightful yawns during the slowly approaching night. The connection between my body and this universe is growing by the second. Sometimes in order to fully grasp the true consciousness of one's true self, is to live in the most purist forms of surroundings. Living on Bastimentos Island has a beautifully surreal taste. Yet, despite my growing enlightenment, there is always another step up the ladder, another level to reach, and another moment to grasp.

Known for speaking his mind and fighting for freedom. Nicholas Gagnier doesn't disappoint in his first piece of work, "A PEACE of My Life." Nicholas realizes he's just an ordinary person but not living an ordinary life. When he left the United States for the first time on his 20th birthday. It was March 30th, 2003; only days after the second Iraq War (World War 4? 19?) had begun. Traveling across Europe for 106 Days, his journal accompanied him, and documented his incredible experiences. As his eye opening and life changing moments occurred they sparked and fueled his creative purpose. In his first publication, Nicholas Gagnier shares his journey of dynamic adventures of excitement, love, & PEACE with his readers through the passages of his European journal.
When Nicholas returned home to the United States of America, he had a yearning for political change, and an inspiration for creativity. During the summer of 2005, in Manchester Tennessee, at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, Nicholas' filming aspirations took off.
With the United States of America falling into tyranny under President George W. Bush, Nicholas' involvement in political activism grew larger. He couldn't and wouldn’t be content anymore. He had choices to make.
Throughout Nicholas' fight for freedom & liberty in America, his desire for creating films continued as his political beliefs brought him closer to the political structure and a 2008 Presidential Candidate for the United States of America..
As time manifested Nicholas Gagnier becomes more philosophical and poetic about his life and the current world. When he embarks to Costa Rica years later, he realizes he may never return home.
About the Author
Massachusetts born, groundbreaking documentary film maker, and political activist Nicholas Gagnier has now put his words and life onto paper. In his first publication, Nicholas Gagnier shares a piece of his life in his auto-biographical book, "A PEACE of My Life". He is the co-founder of alternative news websites TandemCreations.org & LookupandWakeup.org.
His filming career began on a Manchester farm in Tennessee at the home of the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival. His first documentary titled "Capturing the Roo" is a musical journey through his eyes and ears of the 2005 Bonnaroo festival.
Down at the 2006 Bonnaroo festival, Nicholas, and his brother filmed another documentary called, "End the Silence." Their sequel however, contained a different layer of enlightenment that captured the voices of an awakened America, along with spectacular musical performances by, Tom Petty, Radiohead, Cat Power, & more.
On the fifth year anniversary of the 9/11 Terrorist attacks, Nicholas, and his brother filmed their most profound & controversial documentary titled, "Remember Remember the 11th of September." The recording was done on the Arizona State Campus with random members of the student body. The opinions, thoughts, memories, conclusions, and voices of an altered generation had been captured like never before. "Remember Remember the 11th of September" is a timeless piece of history that will never be duplicated.
