This book is an attempt to grapple with various questions facing science and society today. Instead of trying to be conclusive or dogmatic, with proofs and illustrations from the work of the others, I have instead attempted to make weird suggestions, engage unorthodox paths of reasoning, and ask whatever questions might prove valuable in the search for answers.
Human behaviors seem unchanged for many thousand of years, and whatever gain we obtain is far of altering or improving these behaviors. Where originates the path of our approaches? Could this path be corrected or transformed? The entire history shows a fundamental incompatibility between the advocated themes of the belief and the business of doing. All religions criticize murder and war, but the same religions are the first to call in such institutions.
Is something wrong with our general belief or with the concepts of individual and social justice? Or, is something wrong with our doing? Definitely, we are terribly antagonistic and rude to the bone. Our incipience of intelligence has mastered to raise the level of destruction to unimaginable peaks. Human aggressiveness is higher than ever.
Against the main course, the research has done an immense scientific work accompanied by innumerable experimental proofs and has produced very challenging ideas and significant applications. In the process, it has been discovered a “real world”, which indicates that our thinking pictures an “illusion about world”. How applies this tremendous work and the discoveries about the “real world” to the today society and politics? The institutions of our society discard, deny, or ignore the existence of “real world”. Why occurs this deceitfulness?
The “real world” appears as “naturally just”, shows natural democracy that spontaneously develops in the fundament of matter, but most of all, the “real world” has natural efficiency based on the power to reorganize the things in the most efficient way. “Real world” is everywhere around us, and we hide from it by applying the reduction that defines the size of our “illusion”.
The reductionists are the conservatives who cannot adjust to the “reality”, or they do not want to do so because they are afraid to lose “control” over the illusion, especially when this illusion refers to big money or political power. This places all conservatives in the same pool of fundamentalists.
However, the conservatives with large accumulation of financial assets are the individuals who have profited the most from the original outbreak of the nonlinear economics; the largest part of current financial accumulation has been the result of eight years (1993-2000) of strong nonlinear conduct and its efficient ideas. As it seems, too much money can trigger that alarm signal, calling for a halt.
Time and again, human nature has not changed a bit from its previous behaviors, and the nonlinear approach has only deepened the discrepancies already existing for millennia.
Today the things are no better than yesterday. Are we doomed to this situation with no exits? Some will say that everything is in the genetics, and this will not change so soon. But the genetics already shows changes manifested in new capability for discoveries; it shows that our abilities move toward the perception of a much larger world of facts, and therefore, we are no longer condemned to the previous ignorance.
However, our planet seems to have a determinant role over human evolution, but this role has never been disclosed until very recently.
