HEAVEN HELPS OUT

Although I was exhausted, I could not block the memories and impressions that I had received that evening of the accident.  Sleep was far from me, and my mind was harrowed because of this experience.  A feeling like a gate opening up came over me, and everything started to fall into its proper perspective.  For four years, I had thought I had cornered the market on injustices in this world.  I suddenly realized that my despair over losing the lawsuit had been affecting my happiness and progress in this life.  The Lord was not pleased with me.  How trivial my injustice was compared to what these people had just suffered.

It was given to me to know how valuable life’s experiences are and how important they are, especially the more difficult ones.  Even the most difficult adversities and experiences are so trivial when looked at from an eternal perspective, and they are all so important to our eternal progression.  How short and fragile life is, and how very important it is to be happy and live everyday to the fullest.  All of this had been brought into sharp focus with the people who had been suddenly and violently removed from their bodies, and this was the reason for their despair and agonizing.  When the gate slowly came closed again, everything was in place and I was able to drift off to sleep.

When I arrived the next morning in Palm Springs, the city was bustling with people.  My girlfriend and I had a great time.  After relating my biking experiences to her, she made me park the bike and we used her car the entire time.  This was fine with me, because my behind had spent enough time on the bike anyway.  She would pick me up each morning at the motel, and we did all the things that she had planned.
