I Heard the News
I heard the news
From my neighbor today
His dog did what you might call
Passed away
He was a good dog
A big black dog from the pound
All the time he was next door
You hardly heard a sound
We used to see him
Sometimes through the wooden fence
In the early days
It’d make me a little tense
But he got used to us
And through the slits he’d wag his tail
I know I’m gonna miss him
Though to no avail.
