For abusing a spell of invisibility given to her by a goblin she befriended in his ensorcelled state, seven-year old Rachel Llewald is summoned to Fairy Land, along with the goblin, to answer for her misdeeds. On her journey to Fairyland in a flying carriage, she and her goblin friend are captured by dragon belonging to a magician at war with Fairyland. Using their wits and a magical winged pony, they escape the conjurer and enter Fairyland only to discover that Rachel is the chief prize in the wicked wizard’s war with Fairyland. In their attempts to help the Fairies defeat the evil sorcerer and avoid becoming his prisoners, Rachel and the goblin face many a daunting challenge


About the Author

Norman Rudnick was reared on a southwestern Iowa rental farm during the drought and depression years. A physical disability of his hands made him unsuitable for farming and military service in World War II. He worked his way through the University of Iowa, earning a B. A. and M. A in English. He migrated to California, where he became a high school English teacher, a profession he thoroughly enjoyed. He is now retired but retains his ties to academia by reading for many ETS (Educational Testing Services) programs. His published works include academic articles, sci-fi short stories, book reviews, and a mystery novel, The Murder of Eleanor Lindquist. His wife and he have two daughters and two grandchildren.
