The Funeral: December 25th 1942
12:00 P.M: Today was the day of Aurthor’s father’s funeral and there was no happy face in the city of Trenton. See, a lot of people that had lived in Trenton, New Jersey at the time, were related to those fifty-seven victims that had died in church on the 21st. As they played the trumpets ever so softly and sad-like, The coffins of all the deceased victims were lowered into their graves at the same time. A single tear had trickled down Aurthor’s cheek as he thought of all the memories of the good times that him and his father had together. He started to cry as his father was lowered down even farther into the grave. All of the sudden, Aurthor let out a big scream and dove onto the coffin while it was being lowered down. “If you’re going away, then I’m going down with you too,” he shouted. “You hear me dad? I want to go with you too. I LOVE YOU DADDY… I LOVE YOU!” When his mother saw this, she had broken down in tears and was too afraid and distracted by her own sadness to pull her son off of his father’s coffin. Finally, Airimous and Airimous’ mother, had saw fit to pry Aurthor away from the grave as he had been yelling, “I WANT MY DADDY… I WANT MY DADDY! I LOVE YOU DADDY. PLEASE, WHY WON’T YOU COME BACK TO ME DADDY? WHY?” Airimous returned Aurthormatous to his mother so that they could hug as the coffins were lowered the rest of the way down into their graves. The priest blessed every soul that had been buried into the ground as the earth’s dirt was thrown back on top of the graves with old rusty shovels that the city folk had scrounged up. Later on that day, Aurthormatous went for a walk through the park by himself so that he could have the time to think about what had just happened and reflect on it!
6:15 P.M: Aurthor was sad and didn’t know how to control his rage. Since all of these feelings were still coming at him full-throttle, he had a hard time dealing with these emotions that have been handed to him. Aurthormatous walked over to the slide and climbed up the later. When he had looked down the slide, Aurthor saw the ledge of a cliff, not something to slide down. He took a big gasp of air and jumped onto the slide. But as he slid downward, Aurthor didn’t see a slide. He had seen himself dropping off of the cliff he had just imagined. On his way down, (beside the mountainside), Aurthor ran down it as fast as he had been falling. When he felt like he had been at his most peaceful moment, Aurthor imagined himself spreading his wings and flying out into the sky’s most peaceful and undisturbed scenery. He imagined himself heading toward the sunset as fast as his wings could carry him. But, just as Aurthormatous started to get closer and even closer to the bright circle in the sky, he saw his father’s face floating in the sky. Just as Aurthor screamed out, “I LOVE YOU DADDY,” a vision of a knife sliced clear through his dad’s head. Just then, everything went dark and Aurthor’s wings lit on fire. When they burned into ash, Aurthormatous’ heart turned even blacker than it had been before. When he had finally come to, Aurthor landed on his butt. He realized that it was just a daymare, but Aurthor was pissed off. Aurthor kneeled down and hunched over like he was going to hurl. Just then, his birthmark threw a bright beam off of his neck. When the beam had gone away, Aurthor’s birthmark had changed. About a fourth of the glow that had been circled around Aurthor’s wings had changed into fire. Aurthor had felt something funny happen to his neck, but he didn’t know quite what it was.
Airimous vs. Scorpt’ndias: August 11th 1944
Once more, another week went by without any fuss. Except for one thing! Aurthormatous was getting curious. He was starting to come out of his shell again. His father’s death hadn’t been on his mind anymore. The fight in the alley that he had very fuzzily witnessed about two weeks earlier took Aurthormatous. Why was a giant spider beating up, what looked like, a kid? What happened to the kid afterwards? Where did he go when the fight stopped? These were all questions that Aurthormatous had started to ask himself. No longer was Aurthormatous hiding behind a faded excuse. His father wouldn’t have wanted him to end up like he had been ending up lately. Aurthormatous knew now that he was close to the answer. He knew now that it was just a matter of time before he caught his perpetrator.
3:00 A.M: Airimous had fallen asleep about four hours ago and was now lying down in a deep trans. Special were his dreams tonight. For… tonight would be the coming of his next opponent. Little six-legged creatures with two front claws as big as his head roamed around in his dreams. Dark and black-soulless creatures lurked around in his head. They danced to a devilish tone and a spiritless driven beat. Their eyes glowed with a reddish-hollowness in them. The more that Airimous had dreamt about these dark creatures, the more he had become lifeless with fear. He had struggled to wake up, but there was no such luck for him tonight.
“Give it up Airimous,” a strange but simple voice had stated calmly and quietly. “It’s of no use to resist me and my doing. There is no undoing that of which I have done.” There was a pause with no noise but the crickets in the background. “What’s the matter Airimous? Scorpio got your tongue? Oh, oh, oh… wait, I know… You left your brain back in New Jersey.” Another moment of silence had dawned on them. Not even the crickets played after that. Just then, a single scorpion had clapped quickly to make his leader feel special. “Oh stop,” said the mystery man in the background. The clapping stopped. “I didn’t mean it! I was actually rather enjoying that. OKAY… okay, I get it! I need a new line of jokes. Anyway… AIRIMOUS, I almost forgot to tell you. You’re almost dead!” With that having been said, Airimous struggled even harder to wake up, but whatever had a hold on him, had a good strong hold that wouldn’t break apart from his body. “What do you want?” Asked Airimous. “What is your chocolate?” The Scorpion revealed himself from the shade and said, “AIRIMOUS… I’m quite insulted by that remark. I don’t come here for pleasure, I come here on business!”
“Oh, give me a break,” Said Airimous. “Everybody and thing, needs or wants something.” “Not me,” said the scorpion. “I need nothing, and the only thing that I want, is you… DEAD!” Airimous was still struggling to wake
