C. The greetings. Greetings from:
1. “The brothers who are with me here send you their greetings” (v. 21, NLT).
2. “All other Christians send their greetings“ (v. 22, NLT).
3. “Especially those who work in Caesar’s palace” (NLT). “Especially those who belong to Caesar’s household” (NIV).
The last phrase in Paul’s greeting is most significant because, for the first time, Paul indicates the degree to which the Gospel of Christ was received in the highest echelons of Roman government.
To what extent the Gospel was received in Caesar’s household we are not told. But those who believed are called “saints” and they are strong enough in their faith to “salute” other saints in a distant city.
Greetings to you [Philippians] from all the saints, but most of all from the ones of Caesar’s household. This statement may well be, in part, the source of Paul’s joy so often repeated in this letter.
We can only imagine how happily the Philippians received news of the fruitful labor of Paul whom they had faithfully supported. By design, Paul reserves until his final sentence this news of the extent of his victories for Christ in
Paul closes his Epistle with a personal and prayerful
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen (

About the Author
For 55 years, Ran has been writing sermons and Bible lessons. Paul’s Prison Epistles is his third book on Bible topics.
