A South Side Story

About the Book

This book, through the imagination of the author, tells a growing up in a NYC Housing Project. Through this story  story of what life was like back in the day for a young girl you get to experience the good as well as the bad. You also get to learn some life lessons in the process.

This story was written for entertainment purposes and any similiarities to names, places, and events are strictly coincidental.

Come take a stroll down memory lane through the “South Side” of Jamaica          and don’t forget to bring your imagination with you.

About the Author

Deidera S. Davis affectionately known as “Dee Dee” grew up on the South Side of Jamaica, Queens in a NYC Housing Project. She attended catholic school, a private high school and then an All Black College in Atlanta. She has experienced many triumphs and survived the pitfalls of her enviroment.

Being her mother’s only child, she learned at an early age to use her imagination to entertain herself. As a youngster she wrote poetry and a few short strories, however, she didn’t realize her passion for writing until a few years ago Dee Dee has finally decided to step out on faith to pursue one of her passions in life.
