Pre-Journey Preparation Meeting P O E T R Y Y Y Y u K K K ! That’s right - poetry. W A I T - please listen. This is not a collection of poems, it’s a journey - a spiritual journey. The book is meant to be read straight through from front to back (although one does not have to.) The poems are not meant to be analyzed. (Although if you love to do that, please feel free.) Why poetry? That saves time. That opens up new thinking. 3. Because it allows sufficient space to go your own journey. That leaves you in charge. What if you think you can’t understand poetry? I wrote to communicate. With poetry, as with spirituality, the meaning lies within the heart. Listen to your heart as you read. You’ll understand. Why don’t you try a couple short ones? I will suggest "Stoked" on p. 76 and you can try that old game of just opening up the book, reading whatever poem shows up and see if it makes sense to you. vii What do you need to go on this journey? 1. A little courage That’s all it takes. I hope you want to come along. There is still no hint of my ceasing. So, scratched and bleeding, I knocked. But, you did not answer me. Has this door ever been open? I want to know! Recovered, shall I return? About the Book
Our lives become adventures when we begin to observe our feelings and experiences from a spiritual perspective. Everyday, we wonder about nature, our relationships, sex and our bodies. We often wonder about peace and science. You will go on a journey through all those areas in this unique book set up as a backpacking trip Through the Wilderness of our Daily Lives. In this magical wilderness, we hike together but each sees exactly what he or she needs.

About the Author
Kathryn Sue Delight is the youngest daughter of her mother Roberta Delight who wrote poems, playlets, vignettes, stories, and skits for church gatherings of all sorts. Her aunt named Hermona but aptly called Harmony wrote a weekly poem for the factory communiqué where she worked for 40+ years. Her co-workers finally persuaded her to publish some of them. The book Harmony in Verse was the result. Her uncle set the entire Major and Minor Prophets of the Bible to verse. Yet all three saw their writing as a sideline, a hobby or something anyone could do.
The author, having inherited the same gift and cultural circumstances, searched for a satisfying mission for years before she saw the obvious: expressing herself in poetry and other writing is central to her life. While she could slide the home stretch into retirement, she has instead committed to a new career of writing. It is based on the following mission statement: to grow in her ability to live adeptly in peace, wisdom and love and to express the stages of growth and truth in poetry and writing as she goes along.
