About the Book
Detective Captain Sam Garrison
and his investigative crew race against the clock to solve the multiple murders
of school boys in his jurisdiction. Sickened when he discovered that the fist
victim was a teenage boy he had been mentoring, Sam was impelled to find the perp and prevent any more horrible deaths for innocent
young teens in his city.
The stress of the loss of his
young friend is hard on Sam. The Mayor with an axe to grind and a female
officer with an attitude combine to give Sam more grief than he needs.
When a second boy is murdered in
the adjacent city, Detective Garrison coordinates the investigation efforts
with Captain George Burke of St Paul. In the ensuing investigation of possible
sex offenders both Burke and Garrison are wounded as are the perps. Who lives? Who dies?
About the Author
Richard Salverda
became a police officer at age twenty one and served for thirty seven years.
Starting as the most junior officer and working his way through the ranks to
Detective \Lieutenant Investigative unit, he saw just about every police
interaction. Domestic abuse, runaways, traffic accidents that looked like war
zones, rapes, armed robberies(one that cost a
partner), and murders. The many facets of police life and the justice system
were daily fare for him: victims, perpetrators, chases, man hunts, forensics,
police, D.A.s and courts.
Soon after his retirement, with
notebooks full of ideas, he delved into mystery writing. He provides wonderful
insights into real people serving as police officers through his fictional
characters. He depicts the strengths, foibles and humor required for working in
the trenches of modem day police work.
THE SCHOOLBOY MURDERS is his
second mystery/police adventure. Salverda's first
installment of the Sam Garrison serial MORIBUND was published in 2002
He and his wife Katherine
currently reside in Stacy, Minnesota.
