Slinkie, a young snail, lives in a small town called Watercreek, with its’ flowing brooks, sugar pine trees, fresh water streams, and plenty of leafy foliage for Slinkie and other snails to eat. Slinkie knew he was a little special. His flat foot helps him to slink faster than any other snail in his town. He tries to find the courage to enter the annual race. Slinkie lives with his family of snails, in a village, they named “Snailsville”.
One day when the summer rain stopped falling, Slinkie came out to practice. “ I will slink my way across the finish line,” he said. As he slunk and slunk, the other snails in his village thought his idea was silly and they laughed at him. Despite their teasing, Slinkie continued to practice and practice, and he became better and better.

About the Book
A young snail seeks to prove he is the fastest snail in his hometown of Watercreek. He enters a race and finds himself lost in the woods. His racing buddies go on a quest to find him "Slinkie", holds on to his belief about courage and learns the true meaning of friendship. Children will enjoy this book. It is humorous, vivid in color, with wonderful characters that embrace each page and a beautiful storyline. This book is about believing in yourself, not giving up desires you may have or a goal and friends, who believe in you and support you. A great story that will bring joy and provide encouragement. Truly, a book for all to enjoy. A book a child will keep and remember.
About the Author
Marlene Adams a former New York City Private School Teacher currently lives in New York City. She holds a degree in Liberal Arts with a minor in Business Administration. Her passion for writing began when she was a girl in Public School in Brooklyn. Her sixth grade teacher notice her natural ability to express herself in writing and encourage her to do Creative Writing which she received certificates and merits. This is her first children’s book and has completed a second book. She created a company (QJAY Enterprises) producer of Children’s Books pronounce "QUE JAY" dedicated to writing quality books for young readers.
