The Other Side of SADIE

Some call her Ms. Sadie Williams, some call her Grandma, and some call her Sister Sadie, but I call her Momzey, her beloved name given to her by all her children.  I met momzey as a very young child in Pennsylvania, and at that age she made an inedible mark on my life.  I remember her as the woman with a superb creative touch.  She is able to turn trash into treasure.  I remember her buying the worst but the most affordable house in the neighborhood and making it the most beautiful and valuable home.  She is always bringing light to darkness, revitalizing rubbish and ruins, and rescuing the ravaged.

Born and raised in Jamaica, Momzey was orphaned at an early age without any siblings. Consequently, family members raised her.  She grew up a survivor.  She learned early in life what it would take to make it in this world.

This strong solid sister set her course sailing straight ahead, unwavering till she reach her goal. Even with the many obstacles and trials that arose in her life, she managed to overcome them all, emerging a stronger person than when she started, a survivor in her own rights.

There is so much that can be said about Momzey but what has affected me the most is her remarkable ability to rescue, revive and give rest to the weary, weak, and ravaged souls that God sends her way. She seizes a teachable moment giving sound advice and solid words of wisdom.

As you read this remarkable story, I pray that you will be inspired to keep on going to be strong and to never give up even when life deals you an unfair hand.  I hope this book will inspire you to become a survivor.
