How the Different Systems deal with a
Change of Period
Period of Construction
The Period of Construction
determines the Time Factor independent of any period, which may be ruling at
present. This Time Factor remains the same throughout all nine periods. Schools, which follow this system, believe in
the waxing and waning of the Earth Base or Time Energy. That is to say, the
level of energy of Earth Base Stars is not the same throughout the 9 Periods
(see: The Timeliness of Energy). For example, the Earth Base energy of a
building constructed during period 6 will be good in period 8, but the Earth
Base energy of a period 7 building is failing in period 8. When the energy of the Earth Base or Time Star
is “failing” or “death” it is advised to remedy this energy deficiency.
1. Buildings
having “The Three-Combination Charts”, which can take in the strong period
energy of all 9 periods (see: The Three-Combination Charts) receive the strong
period energy of all periods automatically and nothing needs to be done.
2. Buildings
having a “ Seven Star Robbery Chart ” can take in automatically the strong
period energy of the six periods, which have the numbers of the two Parent
Trigrams that constitute the chart (see: The Seven Star Robbery Charts). In
such a case nothing needs to be done.
3. The
method of “Inviting the Energy of a Different Period” is a well-known technique
applied when a new period has started, which is different from the construction
period of the building and the Earth Base energy turns failing or death. In
such a case the Facing Star having the number of the new period has to be
activated (see: Inviting the Energy of a Different Period).
4. In
case the chart based on the period of construction has a formation known as
“Jailed Star”, which prevents the energy of the new period to enter the
building, one should first apply the remedy (see: Jailed Period Star) and
thereafter use the method of “Inviting the Energy of a Different Period”.
Curing the “Jailed Period Star” formation
by changing the Facing Direction is the best way to overcome the problem. This
may on the other hand not always be possible.
5. The
method of “Inviting the Energy of a Different Period” can also be applied when
the Earth Base energy is still good in a new period. This is often done in
order to benefit from the ruling period’s high level of energy. It may however
not always be advisable to do so.
When the energies of the new period’s chart
conflict to much with the
energies of the Construction Period’s
chart unwelcome consequences
can occur, which are
better avoided.
The Current Period
Guided by the generally
acknowledged view that the ruling period’s energy is strongest and has the
greatest impact and therefore takes priority over any other energy, some
schools make a new chart for the building based on the number of the new
period. For example, a period 7 building with a Facing Direction N3 is changed
into a period 8 building with Facing Direction N3.
While everyone agrees on the
dominating strength of the ruling period’s energy, we also have to consider, if
the new period’s energy is able to enter the building. Schools using the
Current Period as Time Factor however do not pay any attention to this problem
relying fully on the dominating strength of the new period’s energy.
Move-in Date
The Time Factor is based on the
date on which the present occupants moved in. Residents who have moved in
during period 7 can change the building’s energies from period 7 to period 8 by
keeping the building vacant for 100 days and then move in again in period 8. In
keeping with the rationale of this method the 100 days vacancy required to
change the energies from one period to the next one should also be applied when
for example new residents are moving in during a new period. This however is
strangely not seen to be necessary.
When new residents move in during
a new period, the general practice is that the Move-in Date of the new
residents is understood to determine the Time Factor. In such a case the 100
days vacancy is not required and the building is deemed to have automatically
the energies of the new period. This is even so when the former residents, who
had occupied the building since the earlier period, had vacated it only a few
days earlier and for that reason the “Man” part of the building’s energy was
never missing.
From the above we can understand that the Move-in Date method is not
consistent in its application and is in fact most of the time identical with
the “Current Period” method.
It is also difficult to make out
why the advocates of the “Move-in Date” system concern themselves with the “Jailed Period Stars” and the “Seven Star
Robbery Formations”, when all it takes to allow the strong energies of a new
period to enter a building, would be a vacancy of 100 days. Surely this is a
small price to pay for 20 years of strong period energies.
