This was probably meant to comfort or console one who had broken up with their bow, significant other, or spouse. It may have been used to rationalize the fact that you have been dumped for another.

Yes, you aren’t the only one who has lost their “true love” to another. Many of us have been members to that club at least once and more than once wouldn’t be unusual.

If you can’t beat them, join them

Bingo Hall – A smoke filled room where bingo is played, of course. [If you weren’t sick when you entered, you may be by the time you leave]
Fishing – The sport that matches the intelligence of an angular with that of a fish. [An excuse to get out of the house]
Golf – A game played where one good shot in a hundred will make one want to play again.
Hockey – A game played on ice, where fighting is the main attraction, since there are more fights than points scored, which are secondary.
Winning isn’t everything, it’s the only thing
Sportsmanship – Good conduct and character shown by those who compete. [Something almost non-existent in many sports]
Nice guys finish last

Grizzly’s This 'N That, written by Ray “Grizzly” Racobs, is a potpourri of old sayings, proverbs and quotes. He pokes fun at many of the sayings and expounds on others with short stories, opinions, personal anecdotes and commentary about many facets of life.
The book includes not only sayings with a twist, but also illustrative depictions of many well-known sayings and proverbs.
The tone of the book runs the gamut between humorous occurrences to serious and not so serious personal events. From the author’s positive experiences in life, as well as from his mistakes, many lessons may be learned.

He was a staff writer for The Haysville Times for several years. He currently writes a humor column for The Kansas Senior Times. Ray’s greatest joy away from work has been the companionship with Oso Oro, his therapy dog and his role as a substitute teacher in neighboring school districts.
