About the Book

People go about their lives unaware of the universe outside their atmosphere. Humankind’s fate rests on five people; the only group that can defend them now. Taken from Earth, they learn of their true heritage and begin training. The time slips away as the Vos Tarr prepare for battle. The five young warriors are immersed in a feud older than any legend; the outcome on their shoulders. Earth hangs in the balance as they wait until the final battle that will determine the destiny of not just Earth, but their own lives as well.

An epic tale of responsibility, The Rising explores the loss of innocence in preparing for war. It follows the story of Nitsua and his friends as they sacrifice their childhoods. Growing up in a day, they are launched head long into an impossible task: Protect Earth from invasion. The first book in the Robotic Samurai series, The Rising catapults the reader in to a universe of war and inner conflict where the time is slipping away like sand. Every day could be the start of the war. Every day could be the final battle.

Every day could be the beginning of a legend.

About the Author

Andrew Robert Bennett was born in southern California. While writing his first installment of the Robotic Samurai series he lived in Las Vegas. Bennett was a student at Foothill High School in Henderson, just out side of Vegas, where he was an editor for the Bird’s Eye View newspaper and editor of photography for the Peregrine yearbook. He also is a diver and swimmer. Part of the National Thespian Society, Bennett spent his senior year devoted to theatre, portraying Lucentio in “Taming of the Shrew”, James Keller in “The Miracle Worker”, and Mort in “California Suite.”

Before high school Bennett was home schooled where he completed all eight years of a correspondence program with Calvert School, Baltimore Maryland. Crediting most of his abilities to his schooling, he strongly recommends Calvert as the pinnacle of the home schooling curriculum.

The first draft of The Rising was written when Bennett was thirteen. A year went by and he went through it, took time off, went back, and the cycle went on. He got his act together though and finally finished it, excited about taking on the sequel.

Bennett currently attends UNLV in Las Vegas.
