“Whence this
pleasing hope, this fond desire, this longing after immortality.
Eternity Thou pleasing dreadful thought.”
William Shakespeare
INTRODUCTION
Immortality--Eternity--these words
conjure up thoughts of awe and question our very essence. Are our lives simply
a brief strut on life’s mortal stage, a blip on history’s screen, then quickly
forgotten? Except for the very few, this is unfortunately the fate of most
people. In these pages, I hope to change our “fate”, our “destiny.” I hope to
change our perception of immortality. For those who desire to be connected
with, or at least be remembered by their families, their community and/or the
world’s populace, I dedicate this effort.
Mankind has pondered the notion
of immortality since the beginning of time. Human beings have found solace and
comfort in their religious, spiritual or philosophical beliefs. Recent
technological advances in medicine; genetics and cryogenics complicate the very
meaning of immortality. In this book, there are no discussions of any of these
concepts. I only deal with practical ways for you to achieve immortality.
There are basically two
incentives for most people to work towards becoming immortal: (1) most people
have families or loved ones and desire to be remembered by them now and far
into the future and (2) if given the opportunity, many people would aspire to
help people in their community and in the world.
In these pages, I present 100
Propositions for you to consider and act upon to achieve your immortality. They
vary greatly in the difficultly of accomplishment. The amount of “immortal impact” you will
achieve depends how well and how many you can accomplish.
In Part I, I propose 50
Propositions wherein you can be remembered by countless generations of your family.
Thus, you can directly influence future generations of your family for
centuries perhaps forever.
In Part II, I set forth 37
Propositions, in which if you execute any of these Proposition successfully,
you will be able to immortalize yourself or someone you choose, living or
deceased in your town, city or state. Some of these Propositions will allow you
to immortalize your business, civic organization, or even your pet.
In Part III, I present 13
Propositions to challenge you to become a true “immortal”. Successful execution will allow you to reach
multitudes of people both nationally and internationally.
It must be emphasized; there are
no barriers to prevent
you or a
family member from becoming immortal. It might be easier to begin at an early
age, but at any age you can begin. With some Propositions, having children will
benefit your quest
for
immortality. However, if you happen to be single, childless, petless, mateless, aged or infirmed, this should not inhibit your ability to
achieve immortality. Achieving
immortality will not depend on having wealth (though having ample funds will
help achieve several Propositions) or being a “celebrity” (most fame is fleeting). Again, there are no
barriers if you truly want to be immortal. You or someone you choose can have
presence on Earth forever. TRY!
IMPORTANT NOTES TO KEEP IN MIND
Note 1: Most how-to books explain how to do
something. I
generally
set out how to accomplish many of the
Propositions and in the Appendix, offer you the means to directly aid you in
your quest. We will remind you to
consult the Appendix to obtain these means (products including unique legal
forms and a C.D. to help you fill them out and a variety of services.)
[When it comes to legal
documents, you are encouraged to contact your attorney for assistance.]
Note 2: Most states have
passed a law called the Statute of Perpetuities which limits giving gifts
beyond three generations. This
antiquated Statute will hopefully be dissolved and may impact on only a few
Propositions. However, by establishing a family tradition, it will have no real
effect on any of them.

PART I
ACHIEVIING IMMORTALITY
Within
THE FAMILY
In this Part, we have proposed
fifty ways, how you or your family can be linked for endless generations. The more Propositions you complete the
stronger the possibility you can achieve immortality for yourself, your family,
and/or your friends both living and deceased. Most people spend a life time working
within
the family unit and owe their lives to being part of the
family
unit. Yet most people have never met or know much of
great
grand parents who are critical to their existence. Wouldn’t
you want
your great grandchildren or even your great, great,
