About the Book

MP69 was a general algorithm that converted the analog world to encrypted digital forms, primarily used by the Multi-Media companies to control file sharing.  But more then an encryption and compression format, it allowed the conversion of any analog data into a full digital simulation.  During an archeological dig of an old MP69 data vault, that held thousands of petabytes of MP69 files, human remains where found in a sealed container. Leading a dig team INFOLIR (Institute for Life Research), performs its most complex analog restoration project ever, translating an old analog programmer to a digital distribution.

About the Author

Richard S. Chin:

A native San Franciscan, Rich Chin graduated from the University of California in Berkeley in 1970 with a degree in physics.  He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1970-1974 and then began a long career in software engineering, culminating in a mid-level executive position in program management.  Rich started his software career with analyzing human physiological data in the USAF Aerospace Medical Research Lab at Wright-Patterson AFB and continued with designing some of the flight software for the then new F-15 fighter plane.  In his twenty years with Lockheed Missiles and Space Company, he progressed from application programming to design to integration to management of large ground-based systems, in charge of over $100 million of contracts.  In 1995, Rich decided to quit a promising career and sought self-retirement to pursue his writing dreams.  He currently resides in San Jose, CA and enjoys various collecting hobbies as well as painting, while working on additional titles with his friend and collaborator, Pat.

Patrick Faith:

Patrick’s wide-ranging interests (rock climbing, surfing, motorcycling, playing the mandolin, hiking) are matched by his in-depth reading across a wide spectrum of topics.  A hands-on technical guru, he satisfies his penchant for advanced technology by developing new tools in his free time for knowledge processing based on artificial intelligence techniques.  His father was a pioneer in the early days of Silicon Valley and he follows in those inquisitive footsteps.  He currently holds an executive position at a major non-profit corporation.   Patrick resides in the Bay Area with his lovely wife and two children.
