A MOTHER'S LOVE

A Mother’s Love is Denise’s second collection of poetry.  Inspired by the love for her Mom, by the countless sacrifices she saw her single-handedly made in order to raise six children due to separation, Denise has witnessed the struggles, the praises, the faith, the solidness, the encouragement, the commitment, the dedication and discipline dispensed to her and her siblings. 

Because of the strength displayed and her faith in God, Denise’s Mother Una Miller, like so many other Mothers, was determined to see her children succeed.  Through the good and bad times, through our accomplishments and setbacks, she was there praising and encouraging us.  Like a Butterfly, spreading her wings out wide; moving in every direction, she like so many other Mothers, shielded and protected her young from life’s tractions.   For this and so much more Mother, I Say Thanks.

Denise discovered the gift of writing Poetry after her life was spared on 09-11-01.  From the 78^th Floor of Tower Two, she took the last elevator to safety, disembarking at the lobby level approximately two minutes before the Tower came under attack.  Walking away from such devastation, she sought God’s reasoning for spearing her life on that day.

While sitting at her home computer two weeks after this tragic event, she began composing Inspirational Pieces centered around such themes as Comfort, Endurance, Faith, Grief, Healing and many others, as a dedication to everyone affected by this national tragedy.  These poems are now compiled in her first book “God’s Unseen Miracles - Healing Through Poetry,” which was released in February 2004.
