Will Christianity become a part of this “harlot” world church or religious system? True Christianity, the remnant (the church-within-a-church) cannot and will not, be a part of the church, which the angel called a “whore” (17:1). However, the organization(s) of the Christian religion will become a part of, if not, the principal foundation. Shocking? Hang in there.
Some will say “that the rapture of the church will take Christianity out of the world.” As a believer in a pre-tribulation rapture myself, I agree that the true believers will be taken out, but I also realize from history and from scripture that the preparation for this world religion will take place in the “last days” before Christ’s return for His church. Satan is a master of using the erosive process to slowly change (decay) the character of people and nations.
We know that Satan presents a corrupt imitation for everything that is of God. We may think this false religion will be a contrived, false copy of the genuine, but one of the Devil’s devices is to take that which is good and corrupt it.
A harlot (“whore”) is one who once was chaste but turns her back upon her virtue. God called
“Thou hast played the whore also with the Assyrians, because thou wast unsatiable; yea, thou hast played the harlot with them, and yet couldest not be satisfied.” (Ezekiel 16:28)
Read the entire sixteenth chapter of Ezekiel to see the portrayal of
II Thessalonians 2:3 records that a “falling away” will come before the “son of perdition” is revealed. The Greek word used for “falling away” in this passage is interpreted as “defection” and “apostate”. Again, I must emphasize that most of the scripture is for the people of God, not the world. When we read all scripture as written to God’s people, it illuminates us with a different perspective. There is going to be a “preparation” for the events to come before the rapture. What are the signs in the church today?
As was reflected upon in the first chapter, the Christian religious organization, like
Revelation 18:24: “ And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.”

About the Book
Since the beginning of the Christian Church, two parallel churches have existed. There is the church organization, so often controlled by man, rather than by God and there is the true spiritual church—“the remnant”—that walks in obedience with God regardless of the name over the door.
“The Advent of The End-Time Church” investigates the end-time church and its origins. There is a decaying organizational church but within it is a glorious church “without spot or wrinkle” that our Lord is coming back to claim.
It examines the strengths, weaknesses and practices of the church universal. It is a call for the body of Christ to band together with these strengths in these last days for there is one Lord and one church. The Christian must be vigilant against being seduced and fooled.
It is a warning to God’s people how they can be lulled to sleep by stagnant tradition and doctrines, which they believe are time-proven but many of which can be traced to seeds of Gentile paganism. Being grounded in contemporary events, it is a warning to wake up, not only to what is happening in society but also within the church.

David Wiseman has been a pastor and evangelist since 1970. In addition, he has been a broadcast engineer since 1968 involved in commercial, public and Christian broadcasting. Having first received a technical education, he later studied for the ministry in answer to the call. Although this is his first book, he has published Christian and technical articles. He resides in
